A couple weeks ago My car started to make this ticking sound when I turned it on…as the car warms up the sound goes away. But I can still hear it when the rpm on the car goes above 2.5. Does any one know how much it can cost me to fix this problem.

HI
are you sure its a Valve lifter?? an exhaust manifold leak at the head will make the same sound as a lifter and well go away as the car warms up
You can take a piece of hose and put one end to your ear and move the other end around the motor to locate the source of the sound.
If it is a lifter the motor well have to come apart to replace a lifter. Head and intake well have to come off.
Good luck

Thats a simple adjustment on the lifter arm. Most cars make that noise – dont worry about it.. Its only mm out of spec.. Small change
My Accord has 110,000 miles and does this. The engine also sings happily up to 6000RPM. After the engine warms up metal expands somewhat and the clearances get tighter. I recently had a Honda Dealer replace the rocker box o-rings. They did a complete diagnostic too and all is ok, and the tappet sound is still there when cold.
