What part of the engine is the oil filter found on in a 1990 Acura Integra?

by admin on March 14, 2010

I’m giving my car a tune-up and the only thing I can’t find is the oil filter. I’ve changed the oil filter on other engines before and the filters on those were easy enough to spot but I can’t seem to find the oil filter on this engine.

It’s located at the right side of the cylinder block (towards the firewall) below the intake manifold – can only be accessed from under the car.

If you go up under the car and look up right behind the oil pan, and plug you will see the oil filter tucked up underneath the intake manifold on the back side of the engine block.

So if you are looking at the the engine from above infront of the vehicle, its towards the back, straight past the engine block ( valve head cover ) underneath the exhaust manifold.
it’s one of the more difficult oil filters to change.
Remember that the 4 cylinder engine is dropped in the hood sideways compared to I-6′s and V-6′s , V-8′s. If you coud imangine rotating the block towards the front of the vehicle so the timing belt and water pump are in the front ( much like most other engines ) the oil filter would be on the lower left side of the engine block underneath the intake manifold.

I hope that helps !

The oil filter should be connected on the engine block at the bottom side of the engine block.

part of the engine block in the back from under the car right over the driver side axle
